Unbelievable. And I’m a purist Who fan who usually cringes at others’ unaccomplished renditions of Who songs. Her performance is remarkable.

If I had a real bad crack problem this would be OK. Clean and sober however, it sucks.

Here’s the problem…it sucked. It was horrible by Who standards. By the way were they supposed to act like they hated it. If you watched the whole show The Who were way more blown away by the members of the New York firemen and police who served during 911. Much more of a powerful moment than this boob puting her own rendition to a Who classic and ruining it. If you are going to cover a Who classic, keep it in The Who spirit and not a bunch of babble like this was.

well the actual Who members appear to really enjoy it, so what’s the problem?

On the contrary. This performance clearly illustrates the absolute transcendental quality of Townshend’s work.

All Who fans should be insulted by this ridiculous effort. This is one of the worst covers by the Who I’ve ever seen. At least Pearl Jam’s covers of the Who are true to the Whos music. This is complete Who blasphemy.

This is horrible. Leave this song to the experts aka The Who.

A virtuoso performance. This is a standard for all remakes, take a great song, filter it through your own heart, mind, soul and spirit and blow them away. If not why redo any song!

    Magnificent. No other words.

honey this is what’s real .. she tore it up!

  21. September 13th, 2009 at 02:10 | #21

The show was a tribute to the Who (among others), so it’s not like Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey were going to get up and leave. And it’s a good thing they didn’t. This was awesome and both Pete and Roger knew it!!

  22. September 18th, 2009 at 14:08 | #22

I don’t know if I wanted to perform a Who song while Pete sits in the audience

  23. September 20th, 2009 at 22:45 | #23

    even streisand felt it
