What is the difference between loving someone and being in love with someone?

February 7th, 2009

For example I loved my ex boyfriend very much and I still do, but I am not sure if I was in this legendary lifelong “in love” sort of thing? Is there a difference? And if there is a difference how do you know you are in love rather then loving someone? Anyone get what I mean? Thanks for any help. :)

Yes, there’s a difference. Loving someone is like how we love all our friends & family. Being in love with someone is just loving everything they do and you’re just…head over heels.

the silly feeling in your stomache
the way he/she looks at you at you shine like a star
a true way to treat someone
    a big contributor to recipes
a beautiful feeling everyone should go through because they deserve it
the feeling that even little kids can go through
something the world needs at this moment

That’s one of my favorite sayings, made by me. The difference between love and being in love with someone is that when you LOVE someone (not really yelling), you love them platonically. like a brother/sister relationship. The other love is when you get that tingly feeling when you see your crush, when you get those butterflies, and you just wanna hug them over and over and never ever let go.

yes there is a BIG difference between in love and loving someone. When you are in love with someone you really do love them not as a friend or as family as if you want to spend your whole life with them. When your loving someone you have feelings for them that will never go away but it is not like being in love with someone at all.
